Football4Profit: News- Football: World Cup Injuries

Spain’s upcoming matches against Armenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina will be played short of David Silva as the Valencia midfielder suffered a injury to his left ankle and will be missing out on the World Cup qualifiers, without being replaced. Not dissimilarly, a hurt to his hamstring will keep Fernando Torres on the sidelines for at least 14 days, pending his rehab and approval to play by the team medics. The striker from Liverpool suffered the injury during Spain’s match against Aston Villa, resulting in a tie and no goals for either team. The grievance will also prevent him from participating in the World Cup qualifiers, though he has been replaced for the interim: by Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic.

Meanwhile, Coach Joachim Loew of Germany’s world cup team has recalled Andreas Hinkel of Celtic for the first time in three years to fill the empty spots left by Captain Michael Ballack and midfielder Torsten Frings. The two will miss the first two qualifying games for the World Cup due to injury. Ballack is out because he has rehurt a healing left foot; Frings has sustained a broken nose, during a public relations basketball event participated in by the club. The games to be missed are scheduled to set Germany against Finland and Liechtenstien.
